Stray - the world tour.

I am travelling around the world. For over seven years now I've been sending out intermittent group mailers to a growing list of friends and fellow travellers, this is that. In blog form.

Stray 07Sept03

Travelled to the island of Skye with my good friend Jo, she got us free accomodation and free food and I supplied the free transportation. Even got shouted to a meal in the restaurant owned by the same couple who owned the b&b we stayed in, hung around with them after closing drinking the best wine and rattling on about engrossing things I've since forgotten. You know how it is. Went for a hike around the coast, my first decent walk in ages, to loch Curuisk. Allegedly the most beautiful part of Skye and I'd beleive it. Had to scramble over 'the bad step' which four out of five people ritualisticaly avoid and was much fun.

Worked at a celtic music festival, at least the first day of which was just lounging in the sun, playing with kids and picking (ahem) mushrooms. Did a couple of fire shows, directed some traffic, had to face down a beligerent kilt wearing scotsman over his hurling flaming logs at people.

Me and Tony are out of here October seventh, flying to Brussels and heading straight for France to try and round up as many of our friends there as possible before legging it for Italy to meet up with some more. Then its down, over and through Greece to Turkey, have a look around, sprint back through eastern Europe to fly out of Germany to Australia mid November.

Then, after six weeks or so there, fly out to eastern Oz for new year's at Woodford before jumping in a van with friends from here and nipping down to Melbourne and flying to Canada, maybe through Hawaii. Then of course there'd be a whole lot of Canadian sort of things, like snowboarding and wheevling my way into the film industry.

Jesus.

So here's a list of people, in general geographical order who I'm hoping to hook up with. If you could get back to me soon as, especially if you're not on the list but in the vacinity.

Eloiuse, Flo, Jeanne, Alice, Martine, Eva, Nicole, Manny, Manny, Christian, a Turkish woman I met in Dresden, Marnina, Holly, Naomi, Tim, Cola.
